Pakistan troops hunting border rebels
Denmark News.Net Wednesday 2nd July, 2008
Heavily armed Pakistani troops have patrolled the deserted bazaar of a town at the Pakistan border area, in a search for militant suspects.
The town of Bara has been the focus of a major operation in the Khyber tribal region.
Troops have blocked roads into the northwestern tribal town in a major operation against militants, which has been in force for the past five days.
Ten suspected supporters of a local militant chief, Mangal Bagh, have been arrested.
Army personnel confiscated submachine guns, rifles and ammunition, as the weapons were being transported to the remote Tirah Valley, the home to rival militant groups Ansar-ul-Islam and Bagh's Lashkar-e-Islam.
The two groups have fought with each other in the valley this week, even as Pakistani troops launched their military operation.
The aim of the operation is to protect nearby Peshawar, the capital of North West Frontier Province.
The main road through Khyber is also a key supply line for US and Nato forces in Afghanistan.

Pakistan troops hunting border rebels
Frankly, the Paki troop`s movements near Durrand line indicates their
reinceforcement to combat the eventual Afghan Army`s incursion in
FATA region. Paki Army shall never kill their own comrades...Talibans and Al-quida and countless other Islami Jehadi grups. The other goal of
Paki army is, to faciliate the Talibani attacks in Afghanistan by creating orchestered kaos and make an excuse to block the roads leading to Afghanistan which serve the logistic supply to NATO forces in Afghanistan. The last but not the least policy of Paki Army is to get more money from “International Community” to invest on Talibans and be able to bleed NATO/ISAF/AFGHAN forces.
