BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, July 8 (PIA) -- Board member Edgardo Balgos said he will continue his advocacy as a 'fiscalizer' (critic of wrongdoings) in the 10th session of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
Balgos, along with board members Cirilo Galindez and Roland Carub, failed to land in the committee chairmanships during the inaugural session of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan presided by Vice Governor Jose Tomas Sr.
"I will continue my role in the provincial board as a 'fiscalizer', along with our fellow colleagues so that we can safeguard the utmost interest and welfare of Novo Vizcayanos," he said.
Balgos, a lawyer by profession, also expressed his sympathy to Tomas who was disgusted with the turn out of the committee chairmanship elections.
He said profession, experience and expertise should have been the basis in choosing board members to their proper committee chairmanships.
Balgos also praised Tomas for his good performance during the 10th inaugural session of the provincial board.
"I was nervous before our session but seeing the vice governor's performance, I was relieved because it was a good one considering that it was his first time. Nonetheless, he will soon improve himself as a presiding officer," Balgos added. (ALM/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
