COPENHAGEN -- Peter Madsen, a Danish man convicted of murdering a Swedish journalist on his self-built submarine in 2017, briefly escaped from prison Tuesday before police recaptured him.

WASHINGTON -- A U.S. Navy F/A-18E fighter jet crashed in southern California during a training mission on Tuesday and the pilot ejected safely, local media reported.

CAIRO -- Egypt reported 158 new COVID-19 infections late Tuesday, bringing its national caseload to 105,705, its health ministry said.

LOS ANGELES -- Walt Disney Co. denounced on Tuesday California's new guidelines for reopening theme parks, saying they would complicate the company's bid to reopen Disneyland.
