BERLIN, June 23 (Xinhua) -- A brace from Emil Forsberg and one goal from Viktor Claesson helped Sweden to win Group E after overpowering Poland 3-2 in the last group game of Euro 2020 on Wednesday.
The Swedes grabbed a dream start against Poland as Forsberg needed less than two minutes to open the scoring after the striker unleashed a low diagonal strike into the far post corner.
The Leipzig striker remained a menace and doubled the advantage at the hour mark after making the most of Dejan Kulusevski's good build-up work.
Poland had a mountain to climb for qualification but two goals from Robert Lewandowski levelled the scores and sparked hopes.
However, Poland wasn't able to turn things around as a late goal from Viktor Claesson sealed the deal for the Swedes, who finish atop the standings in Group E.
With the result, Sweden clinched the top spot with 7 points followed by Spain (5 points), Slovakia (3 points) and Poland (1 point).
